It can be difficult for dentistry students to relate x-rays and other medical imagery to the 3D anatomical structures they represent. This model was made to help them relate the landmarks on x-rays to the 3D anatomy they refer to.
The model was based on the BodyParts3D dataset and further modified in Pixologic Zbrush to add more details and to align with a specific x-ray in an e-learning module on cephalometry.
The important bones are annotated in the model, using their latin nomenclature.
